Trickster Teens

If you are looking to get your teen involved in martial arts then look no further as we are very excited to announce that Trickster Jiu Jitsu will be offering Teens BJJ classes for age range 12-15!
Starting March 2025!

BJJ is the fastest growing martial art in the world and is both a great way to stay active but also learn practical methods of self defense.

Our course will focus not only on the concepts, techniques and ideas of BJJ that allow you to stay controlled, confident and calm in any situation. But will do all this in a fun learning environment which aims to improve physical and mental health of all those who participate while also growing a sense of community and friendship.

First week of sessions are free for all new students so make sure to register your interest quick for one of our limited spaces!

Why train

FAQS

  • No. Our classes are designed for all experience levels and most students both Adults and Teens start with no experience.

  • These classes are suitable for Teens aged 12-15. For any young people 16+ they are welcome to join in our adult classes.

  • Please try to arrive 15 minutes early so that you can meet the coaches, sign a waiver, change, get shown the space and be ready to train in time for the start of the class.

    Parent/Guardian is required for this initial meeting to sign off our waiver.
    However after this you do not need to supervise class.

    If your Teen is to make their own way home after class we will also require this in writing/email.

  • Teens programme will start first week of March 2025.

    Classes are on Monday and Friday 5pm - 6pm.

  • For your first week of classes, shorts, t-shirt, water and flip flops/sandals are fine!

    For NoGi classes just ensure your shorts do not have any zips/pockets.


    After this trial and if you are keen to continue the sport we encourage you to purchase a Gi.

    For Gi classes there is no restrictions on colour, brand etc


    (Coaches can help with sizing, brands and any other equipment queries)

  • First week of classes are free for new members!

    After that we offer a Pay as you go of £6 per session.

    Then starting in April we will begin a monthly membership option of £35 per month that gives access to all Teens classes in the month.
    (Works out at £4.37 per class)

    (Our memberships have no hidden sign up or cancellation fees and can be changed at any time!)

  • Our gym is situated on the corner of Edinburgh street (2A) and the main Lisburn Road in Belfast.

  • Not at all, BJJ has its origins in self defence and that’s what we promote to our students in the gym!
    We teach our students yes to defend themselves but not before taking all measures to avoid confrontation and understanding that fighting/violence isn’t the answer.

  • Of course there are risks involve with any physical sport however our coaching staff is experienced, properly trained and dedicated to providing all students can learn in a safe and fun environment were all members are encouraged to look after themselves and each others safety!

  • We believe that BJJ can be for anyone and here at Trickster we aim to provide a learning environment that both progresses students abilities but mainly provides an enjoyable atmosphere they want to return too. BJJ is an extremely satisfying sport due to the rewards in learning and developing new techniques and skills, we have many members who have never enjoyed other sports but love BJJ!

Trickster Jiu Jitsu is dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children. We expect all instructors, members, and volunteers to uphold this commitment.

Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment built on a culture of openness, where both children and adults feel secure, heard, and valued.

We have a thorough safeguarding policy in place to guide instructors and volunteers in maintaining a safe space for children in our gym, and to ensure parents and guardians are informed about how we protect their children while they are under our care.
